Dubai Health Authority (DHA) regulation
Starting from July 2015, all employers with more than 100 employees are be responsible for providing Health Insurance coverage to their staff in Dubai.
Upon issue and renewal of employment visas, evidence must be provided that employers have insurance coverage for all their employees. This will ensure all companies are compliant with the new Health Insurance Law.
DHA has specified a minimum level of benefits that must be provided in any health insurance plan offered in the Emirate of Dubai.
Implementation will be split into three phases:
- Workers at companies employing 1000 or more must have coverage in place by end October 2014
- Workers at companies employing between 100 and 999 employees must have coverage in place by end July 2015
- All other workers (including domestic staff), spouses and dependents must be covered by end June 2016
